Treatment Overview.

A grafted or an extra bone is added between two vertebrae, the idea is to fuse the two vertebrae as a single solid bone using the natural healing process of broken bones. This surgical procedure may inhibit extra flexibility and induce stability, but it is effective to heal certain spine-related issues.

The vertebrae that are connected or fused are sometimes done with the help of screws and plates that acts as a catalyst for the fusion of bones. The bone inserted between the space is usually grafted from the patient itself.
